Charlie Lemmer
Charlie Lemmer believes one of the most overlooked levers in human performance is not diet or exercise, but the environments we spend our lives in. Most of us understand the importance of eating well and moving our bodies, but little attention is given to how the built environment affects our health. Our homes, workplaces and everyday spaces shape how well we think, sleep, recover, perform and age. Yet leaders will optimise everything from strategy to software, while overlooking the environments shaping the humans behind the business.
Charlie is a speaker and strategic adviser on healthy homes and human environments, working at the intersection of health, property, sustainability, design, building biology and human performance. She spent over 25 years in property, including working for Lord Rothschild and boutique buying agencies in London and Dubai, and has bought, renovated and sold properties across four countries and three languages. She then trained as a sustainable interior designer, holistic health coach and in building biology, shifting from valuing buildings to understanding how the spaces, materials and environments we create affect human health.
She is accredited by WELL, Living Future and the UK Health Coaches Association, Founder of The Healthy Home Therapist and Healthy Homes for Life, and host of The Healthy Home Show podcast. She also contributes to cross-party policy working groups on healthier homes and buildings, helping shape housing that supports human health, climate resilience and long-term wellbeing.
Her current work centres on the Future of Human Environments: how the homes, workplaces, products and systems we design affect human health, behaviour, performance, longevity and our relationship with the planet.
Her neurodivergence and sensitivity to environmental conditions have also sharpened her ability to notice how spaces affect nervous systems, energy, sleep and behaviour. She translates these insights into practical, empowering strategies that help people and organisations create healthier environments.
Through her speaking, advisory work and podcast, Charlie challenges leaders to rethink the environments they create and the version of progress they are building towards. Her message is clear: the future of business, housing and design must move beyond doing less harm and towards actively supporting the health of people, places and the planet. She believes this will become one of the defining competitive advantages for the next generation of business.
