Dr Chris Meah is an award-winning social entrepreneur, educator, and AI expert who thinks AI should make us more human, not lesser beings — and has spent nearly twenty years testing that.

He graduated top of his class in AI at the University of Birmingham, staying to do a Masters and PhD applying the technology to healthcare. However, he didn't think society was ready for AI, and couldn't see past the automation that would upend so many people's lives — so he stepped away to do something about it.

In 2015 he founded the School of Code, a free coding bootcamp that changed the face of UK education, supporting thousands to learn to code, transform their careers, and change their lives. The model helped change national policy through inspiring the government's Skills Bootcamps fund. He also released a platform helping 500,000 kids to code.

A decade on, he returned to AI and now runs Meah Labs, part-lab part-consultancy; he pushes the boundaries of AI applying it to problems and building products, whilst also helping companies and organisations with their AI strategy, culture, and training.

Recognised as 'UK Digital Leader of the Year', he is a respected speaker, trainer and business coach. He's served on various boards including the West Midlands Digital Board and chairing the West Midlands AI Strategy Board. He resides in Leicestershire with his wife, their two children, and a few robots to boot.
