Women Angels of Wales

Jill has an extensive entrepreneurial background in both optometry and in the property sectors, and has been a business angel investor for over 20 years. She holds a Master’s in Entrepreneurship from the University of Bristol and a PhD from Cardiff University Business School. Her doctoral research explored the role of female-led business angel syndicates in addressing the gender funding gap, and she has presented her research on women in entrepreneurship at leading international conferences.

Passionate about empowering women as investors and supporting women-led businesses, Jill co-founded Women Angels of Wales (WAW), the first female-led investment syndicate in Wales.
Jill is a Director and Lead Angel with Women Angels of Wales, a founding member of the WomenInvestEU network, and a Public Value Entrepreneur in Residence at Cardiff University Business School.
At Ideas Fest, Jill will be making new connections, sharing insights and answering questions about angel investing and raising investment, while contributing to conversations around female entrepreneurship and the importance of creating greater diversity within the investment ecosystem.
