Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE is co-founder of the Ideas Community. A long-standing champion of start-ups and scale-ups, he became Wales’s first Professor of Entrepreneurship in 1996 and has since held senior university leadership roles, published more than 100 academic papers, and developed over £60m in R&D projects focused on enterprise, innovation, and regional development. Over three decades, he has worked with hundreds of growing firms, served on public and private economic development boards, advised organisations such as the OECD and EU, and helped shape entrepreneurship policy. He is an assessor for the King’s Awards for Enterprise, a regular BBC commentator, and a weekly business columnist for the Western Mail. He also secured Richard Burton’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was awarded an OBE in 2013.
