Gordon Bateman

Gordon Bateman has spent over 30 years at the intersection of growth companies and investment. Starting out in a small firm that expanded internationally and listed on the London Stock Exchange, he built and led its emerging-technology practice, supporting early-stage and high-growth businesses worldwide and working closely with venture and private equity investors.

Recognising that talent is often the biggest brake on scale, Gordon founded CRSI, helping investors and business leaders focus on the people side of growth, and now supports universities in preparing spin-outs. He later launched Investor Ladder, one of the UK’s largest informal investor networks, and in 2023 founded Climb, a festival for business growth, innovation and investment, alongside Climb Ventures for investment readiness and access to active funds.
