Thread A Pixel

Helen Butler has spent more than twenty years helping businesses build brands people trust. Her career began in fashion, working with brands including John Lewis, M&S and Galeries Lafayette, developing collections and working with manufacturing partners in China, before launching her own luxury fashion label, worn by celebrities. That early work taught her a simple lesson: what people wear has a huge effect on how they feel, how they’re judged and how they show up.

Today she runs two businesses and their teams with her husband and business partner, Chris. Thread A Pixel, a workwear brand built on her belief that people do their best work when they feel comfortable, confident and authentic, a belief she lives out daily, since she’s always wearing it herself. Alongside this, Two Krakens, a film and podcast production agency, where Helen has a habit of getting camera-shy business owners to relax completely, more than once surprising her own team by turning a flat “I’ll never do this” into footage the client loved.

She also co-hosts the Built Not Born in Business podcast, with guests ranging from Dragons’ Den investors to founders who’ve exited for nine figures. It’s not unusual for a guest to finish recording and ask if they’ve actually started yet, because the conversation felt too natural to have been filmed.

Helen makes businesses look the part on screen and in person. It’s brought new enquiries for clients who come across as relatable and authentic, and helped podcast guests connect with audiences long after the episode airs. From how your team looks to how your brand tells its story, her career comes down to one thing: helping people feel comfortable and authentic, so trust follows. Whatever the reason, speaking, podcasts, workwear or just a chat, Helen’s always open to it, even off camera.
