Jon White has spent much of his life finding out where his limits really are. A former Royal Marines Captain, Jon commanded 40 Commando’s Reconnaissance Troop in Afghanistan. In 2010, while leading a patrol in Sangin, he stepped on an improvised explosive device and lost three limbs. What followed was a long recovery and the beginning of an entirely different challenge.

Jon went on to rebuild his life, become a father, develop a career in leadership and executive coaching, and establish himself as an elite para-athlete representing Great Britain in marathon and ocean racing kayaking. In 2025, he won gold in his classification at the World Championships, and he is now pursuing his next sporting ambition: earning the chance to represent Great Britain at the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games.

As a speaker, Jon draws on experiences of military command, trauma, recovery and elite sport to explore how people lead when circumstances change, perform under pressure and keep moving towards ambitious goals when the original plan has disappeared.

His philosophy remains wonderfully simple: "Keep finding the limit."
