After 12 years of entrepreneurship running successful publishing companies, life threw me a major curveball. Three to be precise. In 2021, after 2 soul-breaking miscarriages, I fell pregnant naturally to triplets. This changed everything.
- I had to advocate for myself and my boys and push back against the fear of doctors during a high-risk pregnancy.
- I had to dig deep to get through the trauma of having my boys in hospital for weeks whilst they learned how to live (some days better than others).
- I had to kill the mum guilt that was telling me I was never good enough, that I could never meet all the needs of my boys, and that I was letting them down. It didn’t serve me. It didn’t make me a better mum. It didn’t give me a third boob. I had to take it down before it took me down.
I made it my mission to free as many mums as possible from the toxic relationship they are in with mum guilt. Trust me, I know a toxic relationship when I see it.
In early 2024, I held an event to see if anyone else was ready to break up with the guilt. I got such an overwhelming response that I started a movement: F*** Mum Guilt. This is a community of mamas who are saying no to being the self-sacrificing martyr society wants them to be, no to the guilt and yes to unapologetically looking after themselves - mind, body and soul.
I created an easy, practical 4-step model to break up with mum guilt which I now share in talks and workshops.
