I'm Mira Magecha, an executive coach and founder of Trust Lab.

I spent 25 years in the C-suite, most recently as a Chief People Officer. I've led teams from five people to thousands across scaleups and publicly listed companies.

Over those years, I watched brilliant, experienced leaders struggle with the same challenge. They weren't short on intelligence or capability. They knew what needed to happen. But when the pressure was highest, they'd hesitate. They'd wait for more data, seek another opinion, or choose the safer path, even when they knew it wasn't the right one.

I call that The Flinch.

Most leadership development treats it as a confidence problem. Leaders are taught executive presence so they look more confident, or communication skills so they sound more decisive. Those things matter—but they don't solve the real issue.

The leaders people trust most aren't the ones who project confidence. They're the ones who trust themselves enough to make difficult decisions before there's a proven path.

That's what I help leaders build.
