The Fortitude Foundation
I spent 21 years building Venntro Media Group from nothing to nearly $50m in annual revenue, almost 200 employees, and multiple Sunday Times Fast Track listings. Bootstrapped, profitable, and award-winning (EY Entrepreneur of the Year, IoD Young Director of the Year). No external funding. Just subscriptions, grit, and an unhealthy obsession with churn, pricing, and customer lifetime value.
In August 2024, the business went into administration. I lost the company, my savings, and very nearly myself.
What came next taught me more than the previous two decades combined. Not just about resilience, but about how completely the entrepreneurial ecosystem fails founders when things go wrong. The phone stops ringing.
The network vanishes. And there is nothing out there designed to help.
So I built something. The Fortitude Foundation is a peer-led support organisation connecting entrepreneurs in crisis with founders who have already been through it. Practical, action-focused, and long overdue. If that resonates, visit FortitudeFoundation.com.
But experience compounds, and 21 years of building subscription businesses doesn't disappear because the ride ended badly. Today I work with founders and leadership teams to apply everything I learned scaling a subscription business through every stage of growth and every flavour of crisis:
š Acquisition that scales without torching your budget
š° Pricing and yield optimisation that protects margin
š Retention and churn strategies that actually stick
šÆ Customer journeys that convert, delight, and compound
