Hi, I’m Roxy (Roxanne) McCarthy former Head of Creator Engagement at JAAQ, Samaritans volunteer & ambassador, aspiring presenter, and passionate advocate for mental health, storytelling and human-first content. I build connection-led communities and create conversations that help people feel seen, supported, and less alone. Over the past decade, I’ve worked at the intersection of people, purpose and creativity helping individuals and communities move through change and find their voice.

🧠 Storytelling & talent strategy
At JAAQ (Just Ask A Question) I led the talent strategy and research for long-form content, shaping over 500+ filmed interviews that have reached 3M+ people. From world-class experts to lived-experience voices, I’ve helped turn complex mental health topics into conversations that are accessible, relatable and impactful.I specialise in identifying the right voices at the right moment using audience insight, cultural trends and instinct to shape meaningful, high-impact conversations.

🤝 People, trust & collaboration
From supporting talent through sensitive topics to working with brands including Bupa, Nationwide, Workday, Alpine and Adidas to supporting people in crisis on the phones at the Samaritans. My key focus is always on creating safe, inclusive spaces where people feel able to show up fully and authentically and be listening to and heard.

🎤 Presenting & content creation
Stepping into presenting and creating platforms that put people, stories and connection first. Also scripting and producing content around sensitive topics that need to be spoken more about.

🌈 Life outside of work
You’ll find me training for endurance challenges, roller skating, sparring in Muay Thai or riding horses. I’ve lived and worked in Australia, thrive in fast-paced environments - love the start up environment, and I bring curiosity, energy and empathy into everything I do.
