Farringford Legal
Sarah-Jane is an award-winning lawyer and serial entrepreneur. Along with fellow directors, she launched Farringford Legal in September 2021. It was in response to spotting a gap in the market for a new breed of law firm. One focused on delivering exceptional personalised service to SMEs which was not widely available at a price which reflected the budgets of many SME owners.
Sarah-Jane started her qualified legal career within debt and equity markets at Linklaters and has since added employment and commercial law to her now diversified skill set. She also spent early years of her career at Freshfields LLP, Goldman Sachs and Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP (previously Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP).
In 2011, Sarah-Jane set up Working Life Solutions, which for ten years supported professional women working within organisations. Her time managing an SME highlighted to her that whilst the SME ecosystem was close-knit, there were issues in achieving ambitious growth. She identified shortcomings in support for female founders, and that generally, businesses servicing SMEs were either overpriced or of poor quality.
She is a passionate advocate for female founders and actively campaigns for more support to help their businesses grow. She has won awards, including the 2026 Business Woman of the Year, SME businesswoman of the year, is a WeAreTheCity Rising Star Champion and was nominated for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year. She has participated in the prestigious Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses programme, of which she is a highly active alumni.
