Tara Askham is the founder of She Starts Smart, a platform connecting organisations with verified women-led service businesses, which she built because women don't need more advice, they need more work. It's now enrolling founding members ahead of full launch in autumn 2026.

A multi award-winning global finance trainer, published author with Osborne Books and founder of TKA Finance Training, Tara has over twenty years experience in accounting, including as a finance director, and teaches business owners, managers and directors the one thing nobody taught them: their numbers.

She is a subject-matter expert for global professional accounting bodies, sits on Xero's Financial Confidence Taskforce and the NatWest Social & Community Capital funding panel, and is a steering committee member of the UK government-backed Maple Review.
