The husband-and-wife team Olivia Ferdi, 33, and Daniel Khoury, 36, discovered the health benefits of cannabidiol (CBD) when Khoury injured his knee playing football shortly before their wedding and needed surgery. He credited his swift recovery to CBD and the pair left their respective careers in law and finance to start Trip in 2019.

It is now the UK’s number one CBD brand, according to the market research firm Nielsen, with its drinks sold in 20,000 stores in the UK and overseas. Success on the social media platforms TikTok and Instagram have helped sales to reach £14.4 million in the year to February.
