Did you know? Ideas Community is more than Ideas Fest. Twenty-seven years of bringing business leaders and entrepreneurs together, and now three rally adventures a long way from the field.

Ideas Extreme

Ideas Extreme. The trips that ruin normal holidays.

Rickshaws, tuk-tuks, desert pistes, breakdowns and a group of business leaders and entrepreneurs who will still be in your phone ten years from now.

The story

Eight years ago I cycled from San Francisco to Los Angeles.

Two years ago I put 50 female founders into tuk-tuks and sent them across India. It was so good that we did exactly the same thing again last year.

Here is what I learned. You can spend two days in a room with someone and know what they do. Spend seven days fixing a broken rickshaw with them in 38 degree heat and you know who they are. Every deal, every hire, every friendship that came out of those rallies came from the bit where everything went wrong.

So we are doing it three more times.

Frankie James, Co-Founder of Ideas Extreme
“Spend seven days fixing a broken rickshaw with someone in 38 degree heat and you know exactly who they are. That is where the real connection happens.”

Frankie James, Co-Founder

Emma Sayle, Co-Founder of Ideas Extreme
“Nothing builds trust like breaking down in the middle of nowhere together. You come home with a business network that actually knows you.”

Emma Sayle, Co-Founder

Who this is for

You run something. You are good in a crisis, or you would like to find out. You would rather arrive somewhere filthy and laughing than lie by a pool.

You do not need to be an athlete. You do not need to have driven a tuk-tuk. Nobody can, at first.

Why people keep coming back

  • Two rallies across India, 50 female founders each time
  • Money raised for education and better futures on every trip
  • Part of Ideas Community, 27 years of bringing business leaders and entrepreneurs together
  • The same team, the same people, a long way from the field

What they say afterwards

Words from people who have already done it.

“One of the most extraordinary experiences of my life. Two of our team are registered disabled, and this was proof that with the right mindset and support, far more is possible than people think. By the end, strangers had become lifelong friends. My advice is simple: do it.”

Angela Gregg

Founder, Fresh Start Charity

“I scared myself, held my nerve, laughed so much and made friends for life.”

Lucy Woolfenden

Founder, The Scale Up Collective

“Just the right amount of organisation and the right amount of autonomy. I never thought you could connect with so many people in such a short space of time. The bond is incredible.”

Sue Eagle

Founder, Eazywraps

“Challenging, out of the ordinary, and it brought friendship and connection. Truly a trip of a lifetime.”

Carol Driver

Founder, Carol Driver PR

“At first I found the whole thing terrifying. By day three my confidence had grown. By the end I felt invincible, like I could do anything.”

Alex Lloyd

“Wow wow wow. What a great challenge. Loved it.”

FAQ

Do I need experience?

No. Most people have never driven a tuk-tuk or crossed a desert. You get training, a full briefing, a road book and a support crew who have done this before.

Is it a race?

No. It is a rally. Everyone finishes together, usually late, usually covered in dust.

What is the fundraising option?

Pay the lower price and commit to raising money for education and better futures, or pay the higher price and skip the fundraising entirely. Both get you the same trip. We will send you everything you need to hit your target.

Can I come on my own?

Yes, and most people do. Accommodation is in rooms of three, single supplements available on request, and by day two nobody is a stranger.

What do I actually need to sort myself?

Flights, travel insurance (mandatory) and an international driving licence. That is it.

How do I pay?

£500 non-refundable deposit to secure your place, then the balance across four instalments.

In ten years you will not remember this quarter.

You will remember the night the tuk-tuk died outside a village nobody could pronounce.
