I'm Debbie Shrimpton, the artist behind Debbie Shrimpton Illustrates. I create bespoke illustrations that bring personality, individuality and a human touch to business. My work spans business portraits, characterful marketing imagery, bespoke artwork for brands, corporate gifting and illustrated keepsakes for clients and teams. I love turning ideas, people and stories into distinctive artwork that makes people smile, sparks a connection and leaves a lasting impression. I believe the best businesses are built on relationships, and that the way we communicate, celebrate and thank people really matters. Illustration offers a wonderfully personal way to do that — whether it's helping a business stand out, celebrating a team, thanking a valued client or creating a gift that feels genuinely thoughtful. Through Debbie Shrimpton Illustrates, I help businesses show their personality, tell their stories and make the everyday a little more memorable, one illustration at a time.

Why did you start?

My creative journey began in fashion design, where I developed my eye for detail, colour, character and storytelling. Creativity has always been at the heart of what I do, and my background in design continues to influence my approach to illustration today. During Covid, due to loosing my regular Fashion freelance work, I took the opportunity to turn my passion for drawing and illustration into a business of my own. Debbie Shrimpton Illustrates was born from a desire to bring ideas, people and businesses to life through distinctive, characterful artwork. Today, I work with businesses to create bespoke illustrations, business portraits, engaging marketing imagery and thoughtful corporate gifts. I love helping brands show their personality, celebrate their people and create something genuinely memorable. For me, illustration is about more than making something look good; it's about telling stories, creating connections and making people feel something.

My most popular commissions are bespoke illustrations of much-loved venues, treasured businesses and meaningful places that hold a special connection for my customers. I create unique wall art that celebrates the places people love, alongside joyful, characterful illustrations that bring businesses to life through their websites and marketing. Each piece tells a story, captures a feeling and creates a lasting connection.

What's next?

What's next for Debbie Shrimpton Illustrates is building more connections with businesses, brands and event organisers who want to do things a little differently. I'm excited to create more bespoke business portraits, illustrated merchandise for events, and thoughtful keepsakes and personalised gifts that celebrate teams, thank clients and strengthen relationships. I'm also looking to develop my framed venue illustrations with guest-signing mounts, creating a unique way for guests to leave their mark at events while celebrating a much-loved venue or special occasion. Whether it's bringing a brand to life through joyful marketing imagery, creating meaningful corporate gifts or capturing a place that holds special memories, my aim is to help businesses connect with people through artwork that is personal, distinctive and full of character. I'm looking forward to collaborating with more businesses and exploring the creative possibilities together.
